Generous Customer Holiday Contributions Help Homeless Animals
A big
thank you to our customers for their generosity to Baypath Humane Society
during the months of October through December. Almost $6,000 in food,
treats, supplies and cash was raised for this non-profit organization! We
had donation bins in all stores accepting toys and treats for the Giving
Tree Promotion in December and Baypath was the recipient of our free nail
clipping services for the months of October, November and December.
Giving Tree Promotion
Baypath Humane Society volunteers created handmade ornaments featuring the
pets in their shelter. When a customer made a purchase for donation for the
pet, they were able to take home the ornament to hang on their Christmas
tree at home, as a ‘thank you.’ Here is a sampling of what was collected
for Baypath in the month of December: over 600 pounds of dog food, 100
pounds of cat food, 50 pounds of cat litter, eight cat and dog beds,
grooming supplies, over 100 cat and dog toys, as well as many assorted dog
treats. The total value of items collected was $1475.
Baypath
Humane Society also thanked our big-hearted customers for $1,600 in cash
which was raised from our popular Pet Photos with Santa events
held in our Medway, Sudbury, and Wayland stores in December. This money will
go directly for healthcare and spay/neuter services for the animals of
Baypath.
Nail
Clipping Donations
In addition to the donations in food and supplies, Baypath was also the
recipient of a check for $2,791 which was collected from our free in-store
nail clipping service. Each quarter, our staff volunteers their time to clip
the nails of customers’ pets in exchange for a donation to a local shelter.
Especially for Pets store managers, Lisa Hayes and Amy Lord, were pleased to
deliver the toys and donations to the homeless animals of the shelter
shortly after the holidays! Jack, a one year old Jack Russell terrier, and
Brooke, a one year old Basenji mix, accepted the toys on behalf of the
shelter animals. Shelter manager, Blair Boyd said “The amazing generosity of
dog and cat lovers in this world is overwhelming to us at Baypath Humane
Society considering the misfortune that these animals have had to come to
us. THANK YOU!” Longtime Baypath volunteer, Cheryl Townsend added,
“Everyone at Baypath looks forward to another year of working with EFP. I
know I have told you before but there are not enough thank yous for
everything you have done for us - it brings tears of happiness to my eyes.
Love you all!”
