Designed exclusively for owners of young puppies (between the ages of 8–14 weeks) or for families who have not yet gotten their puppy. It will answer the multitude of questions and concerns that arise in the early weeks with your new companion. This seminar will demonstrate how you and your family’s actions can influence your puppy both positively and negatively. It emphasizes human to canine behavioral relationships as a first step in canine and human learning. Topics include teaching owners how to shape wanted behaviors such as coming when called, proper play, proper interaction with children and housebreaking. Participants will also learn how to prevent undesirable behaviors such as mouthing, jumping, destructive behavior, barking and fussing at night. Cost is $50 per family. Pre-registration required.

The Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society’s Catmobile
A subsidized mobile spay/neuter clinic designed specifically for cats only. Their package includes spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, distemper vaccination, flea treatment, de-worming and an exam. The Catmobile is staffed by a veterinarian and two technicians and can assist 40 cats a day. The Catmobile covers the North Shore, Merrimack River Valley and Boston areas. GREY2K USA is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to ending cruelty to racing greyhounds. They are a network of humane-minded citizens who work to pass stronger dog protection laws and close down existing greyhound racetracks. They also offer adoption referral information to help the thousands of dogs still racing. In November 2008, GREY2K USA became the first group to successfully close down dog tracks through the citizen’s initiative process, passing Massachusetts Ballot Question 3.

NEARR is a non-profit, 501c(3) charitable, all-volunteer group that re-homes retrievers in the Northeast.
