Phinney's Friends Information Day - FREE
Phinney's Friends is named for William Phinney Jr., who served as an MSPCA law enforcement officer for 26 years and was a devoted animal lover. His caring and compassion made a difference for thousands of animals during his years of service. Phinney died in 1995 of complications from AIDS. Phinney’s Friends’ mission is to maintain the quality of life of their clients and their companion animals by preserving the human-animal bond. They do this by assisting individuals who are facing medical, financial, and emotional challenges with information and resources to empower them to meet the needs of their beloved companion animals. Phinney’s Friends currently serves individuals living with HIV/ AIDS in the Greater Boston area. Phinney’s is also involved in a pilot program to make services available to low-income elders.

Offered as a compliment to our PK and Graduate Puppy training classes, this play group will provide your pup with a safe group of puppies to play with in a supervised environment. Our professional dog trainer will lead the group and teach you how to interpret and react appropriately to your dog’s style of play. Issues of pack dynamic will be addressed, in addition to encouraging the fearful pup and redirecting the assertive pup. Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue Information Day - FREE
Incorporated in 1999 in Winchendon as a nonprofit animal rescue group, their mission is to find good homes for abused, abandoned, homeless and unwanted domestic animals. Ahimsa is a term from an eastern religion that means "To do no harm, in thought or deed, to any living creature." Since incorporation, they have been successful in finding homes for over 750 animals, along with various other domestic animals including ferrets, hamsters, chickens, ducks, and even a potbellied pig! They are raising money to build a permanent shelter to provide emergency medical care for animals in need, along with routine medical care for animals in their foster care program. From its beginning in 1957, FoA has assumed a leadership role in advocating low-cost spaying and altering as the most effective means of preventing the births of unwanted dogs and cats, and their subsequent abandonment, suffering and mass killing. North East All Retriever Rescue Adoption - FREE
Volunteers and dogs from NEARR will offer information about adopting a retriever and how you can help make a difference by volunteering! NEARR is a non-profit, 501c(3) charitable, all-volunteer group that re-homes retrievers in the Northeast. They accept purebred and mixed Labrador, Golden, Chesapeake Bay, Flat-Coated, Curly-Coated and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. All of their dogs live in NEARR-approved foster homes while awaiting their forever homes. They also serve as a liaison agency for breed-specific retriever rescue groups in the Northeast states.
