Holiday Fundraising Efforts Raise over $7,000!
We
are pleased to announce that a total of $7,221 in food, treats, supplies and
cash was donated to the following local non-profit organizations during the
month of December:
-
Animal Rescue League of Boston
-
Baypath Humane Society
-
Boxers of Need of New England
-
Lucky Star Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Rescue
-
Northeastern Boxer Rescue
This
generosity reflects a 17% increase over last year’s donations. Holiday
fundraising events included our annual Pet Photos with Santa and
Holiday Wreath Sale as well as The Giving Tree Promotion and
The Forgotten Pets Toy Drive.
Most
successful of all the fundraisers was the third annual event to benefit
Baypath Humane Society, The Giving Tree Promotion, which
raised $4240. Volunteers from the Hopkinton based shelter created a list of
essentials needed for the non-profit organization as well as handmade
ornaments featuring pets in their shelter. After making a purchase for
donation for the pet, customers were given an ornament to hang on their
Christmas tree at home, as a ‘thank you.’ Vincent, a three year old Husky
mix, accepted the donations on behalf of the shelter animals. Shelter
manager Blair Boyd said “If you don’t believe that animals can smile, bring
a toy or treat to Baypath and watch dogs and cats shine! The amazing
generosity of dog and cat lovers in this world is overwhelming to us at
Baypath Humane Society considering the misfortune that these animals have
had to come to us. THANK YOU!”
Tom
Adams of the Animal Rescue League of Boston was also thrilled with the
product donations for the third annual Forgotten Pets Toy Drive which
totaled $2016. “Thanks to the generosity of Especially for Pets and their
wonderful customers, the animals in our shelters had a happier holiday
season,” said Adams, the League’s Director of Communications. “Every year,
the number of toys, bedding, food and even brand new crates has gotten
larger and larger,” Adams added, “this kindness helps to make the lives of
the animals in our four shelters a little brighter.” |
