Store Team
Our store
management team includes Store Manager, Lisa, formerly our Wayland Assistant
Manager, and Assistant Manager, Jen, formerly a lead salesperson in our
Acton location. Our Groomer, Dawn, has worked in our Wayland location for
the past two years. Jane Small, Dog Trainer, lives in Millis and is thrilled
to be teaching at our new facility in her own community. Our store team
members are all very excited to meet you, our new customers, and to serve
you, the local community of pet lovers!
Lisa
Store Manager

Lisa joined Especially for Pets in September 2003 after working several
years in the pet retail industry. She was a keeper and manager for over 13
years at Franklin Park Zoo caring for exotic hoof stock, rare cranes and
large carnivores. Lisa has a degree in wildlife illustration and
biology. She loves having Zephyr, an 11 year old mostly Belgian Sheepdog
accompany her to work. In her free time, Lisa enjoys camping, canoeing and
bird carving.
Jen
Assistant Manager

Jen has been an animal lover since childhood. She owns two Maine Coon
littermates and a Papillion. Her dog Buddy has been her constant companion
for the past two years. Jen has been a professional pet sitter for four
years. She began her career with Especially for Pets in 2002 as a
salesperson in our Acton location. In her free time, Jen likes to spend
time with family and friends, volunteer with the Girl Scouts, as well as
hiking, biking and camping.
Dawn
Groomer

Dawn has worked for
Especially for Pets since 2002. Her experience in grooming dogs (and cats)
began at Mount Ida College from where she graduated with a degree in Canine
Science. During her two-year program, Dawn took courses such as Canine
Behavior, Domestic Animal Sciences, and courses in grooming and
training. Dawn thoroughly
enjoys working with dogs and cats.
Jane Small Trainer

Jane
began breeding Bull Terriers 20 years ago. She moved on to raising Dobermans
and later to Yorkshire Terriers and Standard Poodles. She actively shows
dogs at AKC events in both obedience and conformation classes. Jane lives in
Millis and Cape Cod with her five dogs, who are all champions or obedience
titled.
Jane combines a positive lure-reward method with careful environmental pack
messages to train dogs. Family centered training, step-by-step
instruction, and lots of clear hands practice makes learning possible for
everyone.
