Debra - Trainer
Debra
has raised and trained multiple breeds and has participated in a
variety of canine activities including conformation. She has a thorough
understanding of canine behavior, anatomy and aesthetics due to the
diversity of her endeavors. Debra has trained dogs for competitive
obedience, hunting, and security work which helps her understand
canines on many levels.
As a professional breed handler since 1978, Debra brings her vast
background to her students who are preparing for competition in the
breed ring. Her primary goal is to coach the dog and owner to be
competitive regardless of who shows the dog, the owner or a handler.
Debra’s Bernese Mountain Dog ‘Zeus’ (BISS CH Ursa MInor's Zeus V
Havochill ND) was in the top ten ranking for over five years. Debra
achieved this honor without a financial backer or advertising. Zeus’
wins were purely based on his quality and Debra’s ability to make him
shine before the judges. Adding another breed to her vast repertoire,
Debra’s first Beagle, Monty, a descendant of (CH Ursa Minor's Full Moon
Of MPW RN) finished with five majors and cemented her love for the
breed.
Debra lives with her Bernese Mountain Dogs and Beagles and operates a
grooming business, boarding, and training facility. In addition to
being a professional multi-breed handler, she has earned titles in
obedience, hunting, rally and drafting. It is this diverse approach to
dogs that allows Debra to ‘coach’ her students towards entry and
success in the Show Ring.

Lisa - Trainer
Lisa
brings over 30 years of experience teaching dogs and owners in the
competition and pet world to Especially for Pets' Training
Academy. She started training dogs at a very young age with a
unique love, passion and understanding of animals; this began her life
long career in behavior modification for animals. Over her many years
of training, Lisa has always emphasized that the most important part of
success is a well balanced pet dog relationship. Lisa instinctually
thinks like the ‘mother dog’ and teaches as Mother Nature intended. In
addition to her unique understanding of canines, she can effectively
communicate with her students to help them achieve the same results.
Lisa’s real joy and reward is seeing the owner and dog truly understand
one another.
Lisa obtained a bachelor of science in animal behavior
and worked as a veterinarian technician for 11 years and managed a
veterinary hospital for eight years. She then devoted her time to
obtaining the highest achievements within the competition obedience
world with her dogs, Josh, Rowdy and Cowboy, which included number one
obedience dog in North America and perfect scores. Lisa is currently
working toward her goal to bring out another top contender with her
Australian Shepherd, Bronco.

trains with a fair and consistent methodology that encourages owners to
have great and realistic expectations of their canines while

training techniques work to foster good manners both at home and on the
road. Knowing puppies and their phases of development,
her goal is to assist owners in achieving a relationship that they
